Family fun day was begun to celebrate the fact that families matter in Grant County. It was a collaboration between the Commission and Children and Families, Grant County Safe Communities Coalition, Super Action community Builders of Grant County, Families First and OSU Extension. This family orientated event hosts a number of free and low cost activities for children and families in an alcohol, tobacco and drug free environment. Booths and game are hosted by a variety of programs from the county and showcase their services and the supports they offer to the community.

Admission is free, hamburgers and hot dogs are $1, most games are free or have little charge. Some of the most popular attractions are the inflatable waterslides. Wristbands for those are available for $5 each or a family pass is $20.00. Wristbands are available for pre-sale at Families First, 401 S. Canyon.

Family Fun Day 2011 is scheduled for Saturday, June 25th at the 7th Street Complex in John Day for 11:00 AM- 3:00PM. For more information contact the Grant County Commission on the Children and Families at 541-575-3600.
