Ko-Na Foster Kalama, great great grandson of chief Joseph, is a recognized performer of traditional Native American flutist. His program includes his own flute-playing as two other traditional musicians who also play flute, and also accompanied by two Native American dancers- all in traditional regalia. The program at times accompanies the Oregon Historical Socity's museum exhibit: Oregon is Indian Contry, funded by the National endowment for the Arts. Kalama and his group bring a few drum, rattles and 38 different flutes with them. Kalama is an international performer and instructor; his program lasts and hour and a half.
